WILTSHIRE WELCOMES SOUTH CERNEY

The management of South Cerney Golf Club, near Cirencester, have decided to change their County affiliation from Gloucestershire to Wiltshire and the club transferred on 1st January 2012.   South Cerney is ten years old and has an 18-hole course and excellent practice facilities - more information here.

The club has 32 lady members, most of whom play regularly and have taken an active part in the events and competitions within Gloucestershire.   We extend them a warm welcome and hope that they will enjoy the wide range of competitions and inter-club matches available in Wiltshire.

EWGA LIFTS RESTRICTIONS ON USE OF DMD'S

We have just heard from EWGA that they have decided to permit the use of Distance Measuring Devices in all EWGA competitions and championships with immediate effect.  Although these devices were allowed in EWGA medals, until now they were banned in all other EWGA competitions.  The County made a decision last year to permit their use in County competitions with the exception of the County Championship which counts toward the EWGA Order of Merit.  This latest ruling means this restriction is also lifted.
