The finals of the County Knock Out competitions were held over a single weekend - with Wrag Barn beating Marlborough at Bowood to win the Scratch competition and Bowood winning their final against Erlestoke at Cumberwell in the Handicap competition. Trish King and Sue Tulloh from Marlborough took the County Foursomes title at Bowood on the following day.
The match between Wrag Barn and Marlborough for the Scratch Knock Out trophy was a close run thing, with Wrag Barn clinching victory in the deciding match between Gill Loughrey and Nina Davies with the last putt on the 18th green. The Wrag Barn team were over the moon to win, especially having been narrowly beaten last year in the final by Cumberwell.
On the same day, Bowood took on Erlestoke in the Handicap Knock Out final at Cumberwell, also winning by 3 games to 2. Bowood's Viv Monument said, "It was a shame there could only be one winner. It was a great match, played in a very friendly spirit."
In the County Foursomes final at Bowood on the Sunday, Trish King and Sue Tulloh from Marlborough were up against Paula MacLaurin and Kerry Martin from Manor House. This was an even closer match with honours all square after 18 holes. Trish and Sue won the match 1 up on the 19th hole. WLCGA President elect, Sue Tulloh, commented, "It was a marathon to say the least - we were out there for 5 hours, finishing at quarter past seven!"
