June Poffley took up her appointment as Club Captain at North Wilts at their AGM in November.  We believe that this is the first time a woman has served as a Club Captain in Wiltshire, if not the whole of the South West.  

June has been a high-profile member of the club for many years, particularly noted for her tireless work as the Junior Organiser (boys and girls) - creating one of the most successful junior sections in the County.  She was also involved with the Wiltshire Golf Partnership where she set up links with local schools and golf clubs aimed at getting more youngsters to take up the game. 

At the AGM, June said, "It is a great honour to have been invited to become Club Captain and I will do my best for all sections of the club."
