EWGA / EGU MERGER APPROVED

The merger of the English Women's Golf Association (EWGA) with the English Golf Union (EGU) was approved yesterday (16th November 2011) at simulataneous General Meetings of both organisations.  The proposal was approved by 100% of EWGA voting members and 86% of EGU voting members, well clear of the 75% majority required for the merger to go ahead. 

The new governing body, England Golf, will come into effect on 1st January 2012.  Its Management Board will have ten non-executive directors, of which four will be women.  For full details, see the EWGA web site - click here
