SOUTH
WEST INTER COUNTY MATCH WEEK
The South West Inter-County Match week held at Bristol & Clifton ended in a win for the home County, Gloucestershire, who will now represent the region at the County Finals in Lancashire in September. In many ways, it was a disappointing week for the Wiltshire girls, although many of the matches went to the 17th or 18th holes before finishing with a win for the other side. However, there were some very promising performances from individual members of the team during the week, with 13-year-old Kyra Horlock from Hamptworth contributing the highest number of points for matches won or halved. County Captain, Karen Gosling, is optimistic that we can build on our strengths and develop a team with the necessary match play skills to improve our performance at next year's Match Week to be hosted by Somerset. At the presentation ceremony on Friday evening, Karen presented Kyra Horlock with her County Colours. County colours are awarded to players once they have played in twelve 1st team matches and it is an amazing achievement for Kyra to have reached this milestone at such a young age. Well done, Kyra!
