WINS FOR HANNAH & ELLENA AT SOUTH WEST GIRLS CHAMPIONSHIPS

Hannah Turland, 11, from Tidworth is the new Under 15 SW Girls Champions after shooting gross 79 & 80 at Dudsbury. Kingsdown's Ellena Farrow, 12, won Buchanan Trophy for higher handicap girls.

SOUTH WEST REPORT:

On a very hot, sunny day at Dudsbury Golf Club, Dorset, English Ladies Golf Association South West Division held the Girls Championship for young ladies under the age of 18 on 1 January 2005 and another competition for higher handicaps was run in conjunction.

One of the highlights of the day was a course record score of 74 in the morning round, achieved by Sahra Hassan (Vale of Glamorgan) which is now proudly displayed in the Clubhouse.

Another great achievment was a two round nett score of 129 by Hannah Turland Tidworth, Wilts) aged 11, playing with a 15 handicap which has now been sharply reduced! In fact, Hannah is playing in Virginia, USA this week in the Wee Wonders competition. CSS for the medal play 36 holes was 74 for both rounds. For the stableford competition, the CSS was 73. Par for the course is 73.
